April 8th is the deadline for the end of support for Microsoft Windows XP. For many this is the ending of an era as the operating system has been used for almost 13 years to operate businesses. As the deadline looms many people have asked what this means and how will their computers be affected. The end of support does not mean that on April 9th all XP computers will fail. The end of support means that Microsoft will no longer be paying for customer services representatives to answer support phone calls for users of Windows XP. While the end of customer support does not affect many users the end of operating system updates is the bigger issue.

Microsoft will no longer create updates for the operating system which means there will be no more virus definition updates to protect your computer against future viruses.
