Why am I giving you all of this information? Here is how it started…
I was working from an attorney friend’s office yesterday (one advantage of Office 365…the ability to work from anywhere), and out of frustration she asked me some questions.
Question: Is a way to share a document with someone and both work on it at the same time?
Answer: If you have regular Office 2016: no; if you have Office 365: yes. With Office 365 you can store, sync and share your files online so they are always up to date. You can also edit documents with others in real time.
Question: Is there an easier way to have a video conference than hooking up the projection equipment in the conference room?
Answer: If you have Office 365: yes. Skype for Business allows you to connect with others by: IM, voice calls and video calls. It also gives you the ability to host online meetings with audio, video and screen sharing.
Question: If I forget something while I am in Columbia is there a way to get it off my computer at the office without my paralegal having to go into the office and email it to me?
Answer: If you have Office 365: yes. With OneDrive for Business you can access your documents anywhere with an internet connection. You can also sync all of your files to your device so you still have access to them without an internet connection.
Question: How is Office 365 different from what I have?
Answer: You have Office 2013. Office 2013 is totally different from Office 365.
